Hello, I am Salvatore, a computer and information research scientist. I currently work as an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science department at NOVA University Lisbon , where I am also a member of the NOVA LINCS research center.

Research Interests
I am broadly interested in protocols and architectures for networked systems. My current research focuses on:
- Programmable Network Technologies: Specifically for monitoring and security applications.
- Reproducibility in Computer Science Research Since 2020, I have been actively involved in artifact evaluation for systems, networks, and security conferences.
Professional Experience & Education
Before joining NOVA University Lisbon, I was a research scientist at Telefonica Research in Barcelona (2023–2024). My previous roles include:
- Invited Assistant Professor: Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL), 2021–2023.
- Postdoctoral Researcher: FCUL and INESC-ID/IST within the Navigators and DPSS research groups, 2018–2021 (advised by Prof. Fernando M.V. Ramos).
I hold a PhD in Computer Science (Joint degree: SnT Luxembourg & INRIA-Nancy, France) and an MSc./BSc. from Italy.
Professional Memberships
I am a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), of the ACM Special Interest Group on Data Communication (SIGCOMM), of the ACM Emerging Interest Group on Reproducibility and Replicability (EIGREP), and an individual member of Internet Society.
